We sat in the backyard as we drank our tea and water and colored pictures for one another. She played the piano and we sang off key. We watched ice skating, Wheel of Fortune, Sound of Music and most importantly Jeopardy.

She repeated herself.
She asked the same questions, over and over again.

I did her makeup for my cousin's wedding. I saw her ten minutes after I left her room.
She said, "Oh honey you look beautiful, this will be the happiest day of your life. Good luck!"
She didn't realize I wasn't the bride, and for the first time I realized, this is not normal aging.
This is a fatal disease.

Not only did Alzheimer's disease steal my grandma's life, but it stole her memories. I still get to cherish these memories, and hope that I will always have these memories. This is why I fight.
